2025 JPVIS Tennis/Recreation Update: August 11 - August 17 Our Triples and Traditions Bean Suppa made for a fun Wednesday night, mid-tournament week. Team “Cool Beans” of Jessica Dumphy, Kristen Gray, Barb Gray, and Alex Moen were crowned Champions at the end of the evening. These pot luck tennis events make us proud to be a part of Juniper Point tennis! Pictured above is the “Thank You Meg” Junior tennis celebration. Meg’s last day was Friday and Meg felt the love from the kids with a surprise cake and ice cream intermission at the courts. On Friday we also had our Green Ball Singles tournament. This match play, round robin format was a spectacular display of sportsmanship and long, competitive points as these budding tennis phenoms ran each other around. Gold painted cups filled with candy were awarded to the champions listed below. The Junior Tennis Team traveled to Christmas Cove on Thursday, thanks to boat rides by Cammie Beattie and Gordon Scowcroft. This is such a special event for our Junior Team, partly because of the boat ride. The tennis results went in our favor overall and a good time was had by all. Adult Singles Tournament Week created some blockbuster showdowns that included tenacious and inspiring singles play. Champions and Finalists are listed below. If you are still interested in post-season tune ups, Dave and Susan will be around the week of August 18 for occasional clinics and private lessons. On Saturday, August 16 we will have our end of the season “Improvement Day” to help tidy the grounds around the courts. Many hands make light work and the results are always satisfying! The Boothbay Fire Department will be at the Community House and parking lot for a fire safety demonstration, today, Sunday, August 10 at 5:00 pm. This is a fun opportunity to learn about the fire department, tour the trucks, and participate in other fun activities.
